Lance will do a brief overview as well as a hands-on coding session to show just how easy it is to make an app on WP8.  He will bring devices so other people can test out their first app. It is extremely easy to build a Windows Phone app and he will demonstrate this.

30 minutes overview

60 minutes hands-on training with source code for everyone to use.

For the members who aren't coders, Lance will show them that they can build an app with almost no code. For the coders he'll be showing how easy it is to do a file > New and have a working app in five minutes. No joke. Visual Studio does all the work for you.

For the people who want to follow along with the designing and coding part, they can get ALL the tools they need here: Just install the Windows Phone 8 SDK. It comes with Visual Studio and Expression Blend.

Fantastic presentation. Thank you Steve and Lance. I need to go find myself a Windows 8 machine this weekend.

    Hi everyone!

Thank you for having me. I was writing a getting started email for everyone, but it wasn't feasible because of different setups you may have. So, instead send me an email and I will prepare you a custom setup to get started. [masked]

Hi everyone, I look forward to seeing you again tonight. If you do not have Windows 8 installed on your machine, you can DL and install the Windows Phone 7 SDK from the link below. Its better to do this before tonight, as the installation takes a little time and you need reliable wifi.

I will bring thumb drives with me if you are not able to do this today. You can install it during my presentation. Good luck!
