Agar.io: from concept to application
For this workshop we have teamed up with AFT Leuven (http://www.aftleuven.be/event/web-development-track-workshop-4). The workshop will be part of their web development track for 2015 - 2016 and is the 4th and last event of the track.
We will use Meteor to build the popular browser game Agar.io (http://agar.io). After a brief introduction of Meteor we will dive right in. At the end of the workshop you will have built a working prototype of a real-time multiplayer game! The workshop is geared towards the more novice Meteorites among us, but everyone is welcome of course!
After this interactive workshop you will be rewarded with fresh beer and crisps!

For this workshop it is compulsory to bring your own laptop (and power supply). For convenience’s sake install the following software in advance:
• Meteor (https://www.meteor.com/install)
Stating the obvious: make sure Meteor is installed on your system. For instructions take a look at the Meteor website.
• WebStorm (https://www.jetbrains.com/webstorm)
WebStorm is a cross-platform Javascript IDE with support for Meteor out-of-the box. You can download a 30 day trial or apply (https://www.jetbrains.com/shop/eform/students) for a free student license. This is merely a suggestion; you can use any editor of your liking.
• GitHub Desktop (https://desktop.github.com/)
GitHub Desktop is a free, lightweight git client. This will allow you to follow along with the workshop step by step. This is again just a suggestion, you can use any git client you wish.
