Portland, meet Meteor. Meteor – Portland.

Meteor is an open-source platform for building top-quality web apps in a fraction of the time, whether you're an expert developer or just getting started.

Let's get together and discuss the platform and show some of the apps we've built with it. You've built some apps with it, right? :) I have two simple ones to showcase.

6:30pm – Intro to Meteor by yours truly (@dybskiy)

6:45pm – Show what you are working on or what you have created using Meteor or ask any questions you have

After – coding session so bring your laptops and your code and we will move to a bar nearby where participants of ApacheCon will join us.

*** First round is on Meteor if you come to the event ***

It would be great to make this event as diverse as possible so any effort you can make in that direction is much appreciated!

Thanks to Troy Howard (@thoward37) for providing AppFog's space for the event.

Note: I can go through the web site and do this for Windows 8 Pro and Fedora Linux if desired. I can't help with the Mac but there are plenty of Mac geeks around that can. I don't ordinarily use Ubuntu, Linux Mint or Debian but I can build virtual machines for those if someone prefers them to Fedora.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
