Meteor Toronto Monthly Meetup

Details
For September:
Meteor's new official package manager
Paul Dowman will give a talk on the new official package manager that was introduced this week with Meteor 0.9.0 (no more Meteorite!). Learn how Meteor's packaging system works, what has changed from Meteorite packages and what you need to know to upgrade your Meteor apps.
Demos or lightning talks
We welcome anyone wishing to showcase or demo something interesting they've done with Meteor. It doesn't matter how big or small... as long as you can explain it to a beginner-to-intermediate audience. (Think topics like: How to use the Iron Router package; writing your own Handlebars/Spacebars template helpers; getting around some rendering "gotchas"; etc.)
So... if you've worked on something and think it's cool and worthy of others' attention... Come show us your stuff!!! Email me with the details and I'll get you on the agenda. (Click on my profile, then click "Send email".) Nothing really finalized? Come and show us anyway... we'd love to see it.
Approximate Agenda:
(Note the agenda may be changed from time to time. Check back often.)
7:00 - Introductory proceedings + announcements
7:30 - Talks & Presentations
8:30 - 10:00 - Coding + socializing + impromptu stuff*
- We have all sorts of audiovisual connections at our disposal. If anyone wants to present something cool they've done with Meteor, or some nice snippet of related code, we'd be keen to check it out. (If you are working on something but it's not yet ready, let us know ... perhaps you can introduce it at the next event. Thanks in advance.)
The Usual Blurb:
Meteor (http://www.meteor.com/) is an ultra-simple environment for building modern websites. What once took weeks, even with the best tools, now takes hours with Meteor. And with the approach of Meteor version 1.0 -- sometime soon in 2014 -- the excitement over Meteor is definitely building.
