Reactivity explained part 1: How Livequery works
Details
First talk: Reactivity explained, part 1: How Livequery works
Meteor provides real-time updates to the UI automatically. When data in the database changes Meteor notices this and immediately updates the UI in all connected clients. As a developer you don't need to do any work to make this happen.
How does this work? This talk covers the first part of the stack: Livequery (https://www.meteor.com/livequery). Meteor Livequery is a family of live database connectors. These connectors let you perform "live queries" against your favorite database: queries that not only return the result of the query at the time it is made, but that then go on to return a stream of create, update, and delete messages that inform you of any changes to the result of the query as time passes.
Paul Dowman (@pauldowman (https://twitter.com/pauldowman)) has been developing web apps professionally since 1995. He’s the founder of OK GROW! (http://www.okgrow.com/) where he develops web and mobile apps for clients using Meteor and teaches a Meteor Workshop for developers (http://www.okgrow.com/meteor/learn/).
Second talk: speakers wanted!
Do you have a topic you would like to speak about, or something to demo? Did you learn something cool recently? Write a bit of code you you're proud of?
Please share with us, we would love to hear anything from a full talk to a 5-minute demo.
