The MetroWest Photography Collaborative is a bit different from other Meet Up groups. We have an actual brick and mortar building with 2 photography studios/class rooms and a gallery for group shows and visiting artists... We’re located in Maynard MA, just south of Concord, west of Lincoln and north of Sudbury.

Come learn, teach and share your love of the photographic medium. Whether you are someone who just wants to take better family pictures or a serious artist who uses photography as part of their art work, we want to make this group work for you.

The MetroWest Photo Collaborative is in a great space for people of like interest to gather in Maynard MA. In order to keep things fresh I hope to attract different people who would like to teach a class or a workshop as well as people who would like to attend. Please sign up, share ideas and help make this the most resourceful and interesting Meet-up group in the MetroWest Boston area.

WE ARE NOT A CAMERA CLUB!!

No shooting to please anyone but yourself.
No following rules of composition (they're mere suggestions anyway).
No competitions, art is subjective.

We are here to encourage your creativity.
Use the medium of photography as an expression of your art form.
Good cameras are not necessary, creative yearnings are.

We will share our work, ideas and inspirations with each other.
We will offer workshops, critiques, share art books, offer lectures and beginner classes.

We plan on offering different meeting times for people with different skill levels and a special Teen group to explore the medium.

Professionals, come and share your knowledge, and meet with other professionals.
Amateurs, come and share your love of the medium.
Beginners, come with open minds and get inspired.

"You are right that gardeners like salt marsh hay for gardens due to lack of seeds. Whether its a drying stand, I have no idea. Tom"

"Hi Tom, One of the folks at the meet-up said that it was a stand for drying salt marsh grass to be used to as hay to be spread over gardens, etc. People apparently like to use it because it has less weed seeds intermixed with it...."

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
