Satoshi Square - Miami Style

Who is up for a little "Satoshi Square", Miami Style? Meet regularly in a public setting to exchange coins for cash and spread awareness.

We'll need:
- a central location, somewhere safe to bring coins, cash and kids...
- a time that works well for most, not too much traffic...
- street music, food and drink would be nice

Possibly collaborate with:
- other Meetup events?
- follow the food truck schedule
- follow festivals, races, etc..

Volunteers, Ideas, suggestions, concerns?

"My conversations at Satoshi Square confirmed my earlier impressions that there are basically three types of Bitcoiners: political idealists, geeks, and people who want to get stinking rich."

      <yawn>

That's what happens, when 'journalists' hang out with narcissistic provincials. Bitcoin's greatest strength is in trans-national trade, particularly in areas of the world where the banking system is highly inefficient.

What is the closest foreign country to New York City?

Not to disparage our cousins to the north, but... c'mon!

This is a GREAT idea! Because of the unpredictability of the weather, it probably should be indoors. Planet Linux Caffe, maybe?

I like the rotating square idea. Maybe we can start in bayside and then we can switch it up on the next one. Has anyone considered lincoln road as a possible venue?

This might help with any language barriers as we're standing out on Satoshi Square (Bayside)

I look forward to the reaction, when someone tries to sell a put to a Brazilian.

I would love to attend on a weekday, starting at 7pm. Anywhere from Coral Gables up to Downtown Miami would be great

      I agree, that's a good central range...

In keeping with "Satoshi Square" tradition.... I think it should be an outdoor venue. MEC is our Biz and Planet Linux is our Tech hangout.. We need a more open festive place that can increase exposure to Bitcoin. You all must be tired of looking at my old mug. New talent, new faces, new blood... Mo money! Lets keep the venue and date open for a couple days, to give others a chance to put in the their 2 bit cents...

Good call with the Brickell Place, lol. I didn't think of that. It's nice to see Planet Linux get some exposure in the Bitcoin blogosphere

I like Brickell Place, but it might be a bit too stuffy and too close to the financial district. Not sure we want to flip a bird at the 20 plus banks on Brickell just yet (maybe later)
