In recent years there is a growing awareness of design driven innovation based on the book by Roberto Verganti and the strategic advantages it brings.

The lecture will outline the theory, process and a series of
case studies exemplifying best practices of design driven innovation.

About the Speaker:
Omer is an industrial designer with a holistic approach to product design.
He brings proven expertise in user experience design innovation to leading companies and startups in the global market. He specializes in design and development of interconnected products and apps that are meaningful to the target user, uniquely relevant to the brand and maximizing the business potential.
In addition he serves on the faculty at the M.Des Design Management Program at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, from 2009 till present. He teaches Creative Direction and Mentor master’s final project.
Prior to freelancing, Omer was the Creative Director at Nekuda DM from 2009 till 2012. Nekuda DM is a turnkey product development firm offering integrated design, engineering and production support services for global brands and startups, such as: Stanley Black & Decker, Strauss Water/Tami 4, Elbit Systems, ELTA, Better Place, Pollogen, TDK and Samsung.
Prior to Nekuda, Omer was the Design Director at Cinco Design in Portland Oregon. Cinco Design is a brand communication and product design agency that specializes in action sports and modern lifestyle. He led product design, packaging and out of box experience projects for brands such as: Microsoft, Nike and Nixon.
Omer starts his professional experience at Ziba Design in Portland Oregon from 1995 till 2008. Ziba Design is one of the top strategic design consulting firms, specializes in consumer experience innovation. He was an Industrial Designer, Project Manager and a Creative Director. Omer cofounded the Digital Lifestyle practice, focused on humanizing consumer electronics with a user centered, design innovation approach. He led programs for clients such as: FedEx, Intel, Microsoft, M-Systems, Dell, HP, LG, GE, Wacom, Logitech, T-Mobile and Nike.
Omer earned 4 Red Dot design awards, 2 iF product design awards & 12 IDEA awards. He’s an inventor of more than 20 design patents and 3 utility patents.
His education background is BA in Industrial Design from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design. Following, he attended the Corporate Design Foundation in sustainable business. An academic collaboration between: Parsons the New School of Design and Columbia University business school, in NYC.
