Microsoft Testing Stuff Sprint 2

  • Jun 10, 2013 · 6:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Back by popular demand.. I am thrilled to announce we will be holding Microsoft Testing Stuff Meetup Sprint Two on 10 June.

We will be holding the Meetup at the same venue, although we will be changing the layout of the space to reduce the noise. We have also been promised a dividing screen :)

The first session of the Meetup will be presented by Colin Beales, Visual Studio Technical Specialist at Microsoft. Colin will be presenting a session titled, “Cross Browser Testing with Coded UI.” The synopsis for his session is as follows, “Visual Studio Coded UI Testing now incorporates integration with the Selenium Web Driver to enable Coded UI testing to work across a range of Web Browsers (including Chrome and Firefox). In this session Colin will detail how to get setup with Cross-Browser testing showing some examples to get started and some sharing some thoughts around integration with Visual Studio Lab Management.”

The second session will be delivered by Tony Simms, one of our group members. He will be delivering a session titled, “Entering the Valley of Test”. In this session Tony will explore how Microsoft tools can help lift the sense of gloom so many development teams and project managers have about testing.

18:00 – 18:30 Arrival and welcome chat
18:30 – 19:00 Cross Browser Testing with Coded UI – Colin Beales, Microsoft
19:00 – 19:30 Break – drinks in the bar
19:30 – 20:00 Entering the Valley of Test - Tony Simms
20:00 onwards: Networking over drinks

Hello everyone! It was great to see so many of you last night! I will be sending out an email to the group to let you know about the next Meetup in the coming days, but in the meantime I wanted to signpost a few things. If you want to take Tony up on his very kind offer of a free download of his book, please search "Managing Third-party Supplier Software Quality" in the Kindle store. This is a limited time only offer so please grab it now. Also, if you would like a copy of any of the slides please email me at [masked] and I'll send you a copy! Lastly, I'm going to launch a poll in a moment to discuss the venue - let me know your thoughts :)

Given me food for thought, especially on how I'm going to utilise MTM with DbFit. New to MTM and MS test tools
