Butterflies, tropical flowers, tropical birds, a few cute lizards. Did I mention: butterflies? These are some of the sights you will get to capture with your camera on this winter day. If you're lucky, a butterfly will land on you.
Please note all cameras need to be handheld; no camera tripods, monopods or other extra equipment is allowed from 9 am onward. If you are interested in bringing a tripod AND you are an "early bird," you can join us earlier, at 7 am, on the same morning. (See the other Butterfly meetup for this day.)
Admission for the regular hours (starting 9 am) is $14. You will need to pay upon arrival for this meetup (9am). If 20+ people sign up (including guests), the admission fee will be reduced.
IMPORTANT TIPS
• "Warm up" your camera before your arrival to prevent your camera lens / viewfinder from fogging up inside. Keep your camera inside your heated car (NOT in the cold trunk) on your way to the Butterfly Conservatory.
• Be prepared for very warm and humid conditions inside. It will get warmer as the day progresses. Short-sleeved shirts are highly recommended.
• (Optional) Wear brightly colored clothing to increase the chances of attracting butterflies.
• No outside food or beverages are allowed anywhere in the Conservatory. There is a cafe on premises, for those who need food or drinks.
