Crochet with Kat and social time.

Donna: I think hosting another event like this is a good idea....we can start a project this Saturday with Kat and her helpers....and continue our projects on another weekend...we can all talk about this on Saturday afternoon! This will be fun...Kat is becoming a good teacher of crafts!!! Way to go Kat!

Kat:

I will teach beginning level crochet stitches and talk about how to pick out the proper yarn and hook to crochet a project. We will go into Joann's to pick out yarn and hooks, if you don't have them already. A few people may have a little extra yarn or a hook to share and we will take a few minutes before shopping to see who wants to try or buy. You can usually get some good coupons at

Joann's to buy at least one item around 40% off (http://www.joann.com/coupon/?icn=Home&ici=hs0-1), so click there and check online to print one, or pull it up on your smart phone with their app. If you need to buy yarn and a hook plan to spend about $5 using a coupon and bigger projects may cost around $10 or more, depending on the type of yarn.

You can be thinking of a simple project, such as a bookmark, wash cloth, face cloth, baby wash cloth, pot scrubber, dish cloth, headband/ear warmer, or scarf to keep you warm.

I will also bring lots of samples of my crochet and knitted items, such as hats, scarves, ponchos, ear muffs, cotton cloths, and several others, which are for sale. This will give me examples of the different types of yarn you may or may not want to try for your first project, since some are more difficult to work with. Seeing them will also give you ideas for projects.

After gathering supplies, we can hang out in a comfortable spot to sit, like a group of couches and arm chairs. Bring something to eat and drink if you like. Food court and restrooms are near by.

Yes, the guys can join us too. I am looking forward to seeing everyone there, even if you just want to come by and hang out for a visit or do a little mall walking while we are there.
