What example do you have for applying Toastmasters skills to your life? A member shared a loving example. She said:

Recently, my father had a minor stroke. He needed help, particularly with speaking with doctors. I went with my dad to one of his appointments to be an advocate for him. Although a good doctor, my sense was that the doctor really wasn't seeing the next steps that would be best for my dad. My father just wanted to leave, but I told my dad to wait and then I spoke with the doctor, asked some questions, then laid out what I thought would be a good course of action to take with my dad. After more discussion, we were able to come up with a great plan for my father. On my drive home, I realized that this manner of discussion and resolution were the result of the leadership lessons I've learned right here in Toastmasters. Learning leadership helps in all facets of our lives - it can even help you advocate for someone you love.
