Megre describes his incredible meeting with a mysterious young woman named Anastasia on the bank of the River Ob (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/River_Ob) in 1994. In a remote Siberian forest she reveals to him her philosophy on Man's relationship to Nature, the Universe and God, as well as lifestyle, education, nutrition, healing and medicinal plants, spirituality, love, family, and sexual relations. These teachings became the basis for a series of best-selling books, The Ringing Cedars of Russia (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ringing_Cedars_of_Russia&action=edit&redlink=1), first published in 1996. In ten years they sold over 10 million copies and have been translated into twenty languages.

The Ringing Cedars series offers material about living close to the Earth. The books have become the basis for a Russian and increasingly worldwide back to the land (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eco-village) movement based on the Russian tradition of self-reliant living on the land, providing physical subsistence and spiritual fulfillment. We will be studying each book in the series, one at a time.

In preparation for our time together, please read the first three chapters of Anastasia, by Vladimir Megre', the first book of the Ringing Cedars series. We will have a wonderful time getting to know each other as we share how we are touched by the diversity of important topics in this holistic, progressive written material.

A message from study group founder, Dr. Brent W. Davis:

"Over my lifetime, since I was in my late teens growing up in West Los Angeles, I have had the opportunity of witnessing just about every type of organization and spiritual tradition that explores the evolution of consciousness, spirituality, and intentional living.

Before I undertook a spirit quest into a remote area of the High Andes mountains in May of 2011, I was serendipitously led to buy a copy of a book written by Vladimir Megré about a Russian mystic and recluse named Anastasia. During my arduous journey in Peru there were days where my trekking team was immobilized by bad weather, and I had the time to read this amazing book two times. (It is the first of several books in the Ringing Cedars series.) Never have I found in one place so many profound ideas, covering a huge array of topics relevant to the creation of a "revised" society dedicated to more highly enlightened living."
