If you like to dance, meet new people, listen to lively Celtic music and have fun while exercising, come and join us!

Discover the fast-paced jigs and reels and the more dignified strathspeys that make up Scottish Country Dancing. Join to stay fit and make new friends or to become a part of the larger Scottish Country Dancing world. You don't have to be Scottish to enjoy doing the dances from Scotland. Scottish Country Dancing is done everywhere, so what you learn here can be practiced in Europe, Japan, Australia, Canada - anywhere! We meet every Wednesday night to learn new dances and have a good time. Our weekly classes are open to everyone - beginner through advanced dancers. Join us, and our teacher and our experienced dancers will help you learn the steps and formations which make up the dances. Come join the fun! No partner necessary. Wear soft soled shoes. First 3 classes are free; after that it's just $5./class. For a preview, search for "Scottish Country Dancing" on youtube...

Bonus!!  From Psychology Today magazine:  "Dancing improves brain function on a variety of levels. Two recent studies show how different types of practice allow dancers to achieve peak performance by blending cerebral and cognitive thought processes with muscle memory and ‘proprioception’ held in the cerebellum. Through regular aerobic training that incorporates some type of dance at least once a week anyone can maximize his or her brain function."   Let's all get smart together!
