midtown friends community is a new church in the midtown area of sacramento. we are from the friends [quaker] tradition which gives us a strong commitment to peace, listening to God's Spirit and Christian Scriptures, and working to empower marginalized people.
we meet every Sunday at 5pm at 1812 J Street for a time of celebration and worship. we also meet every Tuesday at Capitol Dawg (on 20th and Capitol) at 7pm for a community meal.
we do lots of other stuff. please check out our website at www.midtownfriends.org or email our pastor at info@midtownfriends.org
Sundays: we read Christian Scripture, paint, sing songs, read poetry, pray, share meals etc.
Tuesdays: we eat hot dogs together and share life
Other times...we serve the homeless, visit art museums, get coffee, watch flight of the conchords, the office, or arrested development, have deep (or not so deep) theological conversations, go for walks, watch films about social justice...etc.
