If you’re interested in learning about perception-based photography and direct-seeing as a photographer, then this community is for you.  The Miksang Institue of Contemplative Photography offers workshops that provide you with tools on how to directly connect to your world as a human and as a photographer.  Most of us photographers, including myself, are always seeking better methods, newer techniques and the latest technically advanced equipment in an attempt to capture our beautiful world.  But, as we’ve all been taught, great photography/perception begins with our state of mind, not our gear.  Some examples of such “perception” Masters that realized this fact were Claude Monet, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Edward Weston and Minor White.

 

These workshops will teach you how to be "present" in your world…from this foundation you will begin to connect with your world.  Remember, it’s not your gear, it’s your eye, mind and heart…these are your greatest assets as a photographer.
