Good Harvest Drum Circles and other Events

To everyone on the Drum Circle Meetup mailing list - I am passing along to you the monthly email that I just sent out to those on my drum email list outside of the Meetup group!!

Hello, Drummers!

Happy Halloween!, and I've got a few things to pass on to you for
the month of November and beyond...

First, we will finally be back on track in November with our circles at
Good Harvest Market in Pewaukee (with the normal monthly schedule ).
Here it is:

Wednesday, November 4th: Women's Circle from 6:00 to 8:00 PM

Thursday, November 12th: Open Circle from 6:00 to 8:00 PM

Our circles last month were well attended (we had 17 people at the open circle on
October 15th, and it was a great time!). To me, though, it really matters not how
many people attend! The beauty of it for me personally is seeing the different mix
of people at each circle, and therefore the unique energy, rhythm, and sound that
is created (which can never be replicated!). It's always exciting for me to see people
attend a circle that I haven't seen in a while or who I had no clue would be there
ahead of time - each circle is a surprise!

Also, we're finding that going for 2 hours now instead of the 1&1/2 we used to do
makes the circles better - more time to drum!!

So I hope you can join us in November for some good times. Good Harvest Market
is located at 1850 Meadow Lane in Pewaukee, and the drum circles are held in the
Community Room. And please note that we welcome all kinds of different drums
and percussion instruments - this is what makes it interesting!

Second, I'd like to give you a "heads up" about some drumming workshops
that will be held in Illinois in December. On December 11th through the 13th,
Mamady Keita, who has been called the "Master of Masters" and is widely
regarded as the most famous and revered djembe Master the world has ever
known, will be teaching classes in Oak Park, Illinois. If you'd like more information,
go to, and then on the home page click on the blue line
("Mamady Keita") toward the bottom of the page (this will give you detailed
information about the classes and also a place to register in advance).

Lastly, as I always remind everyone, a great place to find out about drumming
circles/events in the Milwaukee and surrounding areas is the Greater Milwaukee
Drum Circle Meetup Group website. We post the events on the calendar section
as they come up, so if you check regularly, there may be something that you
will be interested in attending. Check it out!
The address is:

"Many times the arrival of the drum in one's life can be a harbinger for change.
And there's no denying the psychological, mental, physical, social, metaphysical,
spiritual, and energetic effects of rhythm and drumming."

- Michael Taylor
