Leadership Luncheon w/ Dr. Robert Davis, CEO of MKE's Zoological Society

Dr. Robert "Bert" Davis
CEO, Zoological Society

Growing up, Dr. Robert Davis had an insatiable curiosity about nature and wildlife.  So he studied zoology and decided to pursue veterinary medicine as a career.  His unique skill set has taken him from his hometown of Chicago, to Atlanta, to Washington D.C. and now to Milwaukee.

He’s been reshaping the MKE County Zoo and bringing the region national recognition.  If you're “wild” about leadership, Dr. Bert's the lion at the head of the pack. Don't miss it!

Since 2006, Dr. Davis has served as President & CEO of the Zoological Society of Milwaukee.  He oversees all organizational operations and manages 65 staff, 20 interns and a volunteer organization of 557 members.  He’s also responsible for delivering quality services to a general membership of 53,000 households.

Dr. Davis has been a driving force in branding the Milwaukee County Zoo as a local and national treasure.  His pan-institutional work has helped position Milwaukee and Chicago as leaders within the scientific, academic and conservation service industries.

Dr. Bert was formerly Vice-President of Education at Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo and previously served as Director of Education and External Affairs at Zoo Atlanta.  He’s also served as Supervisory Veterinary Medical Officer at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Zoological Park in Washington, DC, making him the first African-America ever employed by the organization.

These luncheons are designed to inform and inspire.  Come and you can expect to:

* Learn the details of Dr. Bert's professional story
* Hear his advice and tips for leadership and pursuing your passions
* Learn how cultural institutions are making MKE a distinct place
* Participate in a lively question and answer period (Dr. Bert's an open book)
