I want to announce that there will be an NCGR Level One Certification examination on Sunday, September 18, 2011. The exam will run from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm, a total of five hours.
NCGR - the National Council for Geocosmic Research - is a worldwide organization or astrologers. It has a four level certification process for serious students of astrology who aspire to professional level competency and certification.
The deadline for registering for the exam is Thursday, September 1st.
If you are interested in taking the exam here are some further details.
Test takers should bring to the test site the following:
20th Century Ephemeris; Table of Houses;
American and International Atlases, including time changes
and longitudes and latitudes; a scientific calculator.
Printed chart calculation worksheets are not permitted at the test site.
All scrap paper should be collected along with the tests
and included with the materials sent to NCGR.
The fee for the exam is $60 for NCGR members, and $115 for
non-members. (The NCGR membership is $55/year which is the difference
between the two fees.) The fees are collected at the test site, and
should be as check or money order.
If you are not an NCGR member you can join the day of the exam, and
write two separate checks.
The exam will have 60 multiple choice questions on basic astrology
info and chart interpretation. The other 40 points will be on chart
calculation - you will need to draw up the planets and house cusps for
a given birth date, time and place. You will also need to draw up part
of a chart for a birth East of Greenwich, and a birth South of the
If you have not seen it, NCGR publishes a Certification Study Guide.
