Mark has provided the following abstract of his talk:

Architectural challenges of IoT and Big Data

Mark will discuss the challenges of IoT and how this demands different thinking to that of a traditional application. What do we do with all this data, how do we scale out to handle all these devices? We'll cover several architectures which can help with these challenges.

We'll also dive into one of the key and most talked about aspects of IoT applications in the modern day, Apache Spark. Mark will give a brief introduction to Spark and it's key concepts, with examples, and explain how using Spark in conjunction with Cassandra can give huge benefits.
