Will famo.us change the mobile app landscape?

Floris Derksen - One Shoe

Many tried to build great native like experiences with HTML5 driven web apps, but few managed to deliver. The case is that HTML5, javascript and CSS just can’t compete with native coded apps.

Somewhere at the end of April a new javascript based open source framework named famo.us will be released. famo.us claims to be the next best framework for developing mobile and web apps with great and smooth user interactions.
On launch the framework will provide developers with features like a physics engine, 3d engine, mobile app wrapper en backbone.js like integrations.

During the presentation Floris Derksen, co-founder of One Shoe, will provide some insight into the features of this new framework and if possible, present some live demos.

Stefan Debois, founder of Survey Anyplace, shares his experiences with this campaign, including response rates, examples of consumer-generated content and the development of a brand community using HTML5-powered mobile surveys.

Donating via mobile devices
R
oland van Ipenburg - Puurpxl

How should we design mobile applications to empower users in supporting non-profit organizations via mobile devices? Using the Natuur Routes app from Natuurmonumenten as an example we show how combining research on philanthropy models, Electronic Funds Transfer methods and User Experience guidelines can favourably influence the user’s intention to donate.
