For episode #17, we have an exciting new music app that combines your favourite songs with your magnificent vocal artistry! You can choose to play with old friends or new Jukeboxing buddies. We've invited the team at Syrp Inc., a Toronto-based mobile app development company, to share the story on their latest music app, Jukeboxer (http://playjukeboxer.com/).
Founded by two brothers Andrew and Jonathan Norris, their team launched Cloud Photo last March 2012, an app that connects your photos directly to the cloud. New photos taken with the app are automatically synced to Dropbox keeping them secure, safe and accessible in the cloud.
In December 2012, they released Jukeboxer available on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. This is a fun and interactive app that "pits users against each other in an all out singing-brawl. Jukeboxer lets you sing as loud as you want (adding the help of voice filters if you wish) with friends and strangers as the community decides who should be the champion."
The app is superbly designed in partnership with Filament Creative Inc. (http://filamentlab.com/) In this presentation, the Syrp team will discuss:
-
Various Login/Sign-up user acquisition strategies
-
Their decision to release a free and paid version (Pro) of the app
-
The challenges and opportunities in working with and choosing a design firm
-
Tried and tested marketing plans and exploring new channels
