Mobile MED Showcase: Toronto Rehab Institute

Details

We're excited to announce our second Mobile MED Showcase at the Toronto Rehab Institute (TRI).

At Mobile MED, we believe magic happens when talented people in the technology and healthcare space come together to discuss and share ideas. Join us at our showcase to see the city's latest mobile health projects and to chat with clinicians who work from some of the world's leading healthcare institutions.

The TRI is the largest rehabilitation hospital in Canada and a part of the University Health Network. The institute is one of the world leaders in helping people overcome their disabilities due to illness, injuries, and other conditions.

The institute also houses state of the art research facilities, including the iDAPT.

In this showcase, you will see:

  1. Opioid Manager, by Dr. Andrea Furlan, MD, PhD.
  • Dr. Furlan developed Opioid Manager as a point-of-care tool for providers to prescribe opioid medications for patients with chronic pain (available on iOS (https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/opioid-manager/id527601780?mt=8)). The app is a continuation of a series of validated tools that were built upon the Canadian Opioid Guidelines. Dr. Furlan will speak about the story of Opioid Manager and the many challenges she faced.
  1. KidList - Hacking Health Kids Winner!
  • KidList is a prize-winning app project from the Hacking Health for Kids 2014 hackathon that facilitates communication between the Pediatric Advanced Care Team (PACT) at SickKids.
  1. Demos! + Tours
  • After short presentations by these project leaders, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and experience the projects first-hand. In addition, we will organize small-group tours of the iDAPT research facilities.

Refreshments will be served.
