Happy Wednesday, guys. I hope you're having a great day so far.
At the last workshop, someone (I think it was Andrea) mentioned submitting their work to a national writing contest. As we went around the table, most of the group was encouraging, but simultaneously envious. We want to submit our work, too!
There are usually obstacles in the way, though. Procrastination, busy schedules, aren't the Real Housewives on tonight?, etc. Plus, even if we did get past the obstacles, where would we submit our work? What kinds of contests are out there?
I decided that I wanted to create a challenge for us to actually submit our work for publication. I know we need time and more information, but let's start the challenge now. Let's write something new and amazing, or edit a potential masterpiece, and then actually, physically mail it to someone who could potentially publish it.
I'm going to post an event on our main meetup page for people to join the challenge. If you want to join, RSVP "Yes". We'll have meetings about the challenge in the future, but anyone can join. New members, old members, it doesn't matter. We're going to get together, write, share information about upcoming contests or places to submit your work, and try our damnedest to get published over the next few months.
I hope you'll join us! E-mail me if you have any questions.
