CHADD-the nation's premiere organization serving children and adults with Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD). CHADD has over 20,000 members in 200 local affiliates throughout the US CHADD affiliates like Monmouth Ocean CHADD offer support for individuals, parents, teachers, professionals and others.

CHADD is a membership organization, produces the bi-monthly ATTENTION! Magazine (for members) and sponsors an annual conference. The National Resource Center (NCR) on AD/HD is the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) funded national clearinghouse for evidence based information about AD/HD.

Services and Supports

  • Reach us by Phone  (732-552-8012 M-F 9am-5pm). Our affiliate provides a contact number that either reaches a live person or takes a message. Our volunteers do their very best to return your call; we know your call is important because most of us were on the other side of that call at one point. You can also email the organizers through Meetup or monmouth-county@chadd.net.
  • Parent and Adult Support Group Meetings  We hold public bi-monthly meetings that are facillitated by qualified and expert parents and peers. 
  • Professional Speaker Series  We also provide experts and authorities on ADHD for our members.  This special meeting features a monthly local clinician or educator presentation on various current topics, treatments, resources on ADHD.  These meetings  are usually held separately from the monthly Parent and Adult Support Group meetings.
  • Parent to Parent: Family Training on AD/HD is a 14 hour intensive training on ADHD provided by CHADD certified parents/professionals.  Participants receive extensive materials to support them, including articles, reference materials, handouts, and homework assignments. The curriculum is very structured and includes information on:

•Overview of AD/HD
•Assessment to Multimodal Treatment
•Managing the Impact(s) of AD/HD on the Family
•Developing Parenting Strategies and Positive Behavior Interventions
•Educational Rights for Your Child with AD/HD
•Building an Education Team:  Bridging the Gap Between Home and School
