Using Netbeans IDE for PHP Development (Great Falls)

The Netbeans IDE is a feature rich open-source integrated development environment. It includes a PHP bundle that supports PHP code development and integrates with tools like Xdebug, PHPDocumentor, and PHPUnit, source control systems such as Git, Mercurial, and Subversion, and provides specific support for some of the more popular PHP frameworks like Zend and Symfony.

Great Falls event organizer James Krippes will make a presentation on the the use of Netbeans and his experience in the development of a YII framework PHP project.

I should have seen this presentation. Still, curious: How far is Great Falls from Bozeman?

A small but spunky crowd turned out to see (and heckle) James' presentation as he demo'ed and talked about Netbeans, Xdebug, Fiddler, MySQL Workbench, the Google Chrome advanced REST client, and various features of the YII framework. Discussion of various other Netbeans plugins and addons followed. Great programming-oriented technical meetup as far as I was concerned.

There seemed to be good interest in having James do some future in-depth presentations on building an app with YII, as well.
