Baking Your Site (Bozeman)

Presentation on the new (or old?) idea of "baking" some or all of your site before rolling it out to the world. I [Rob Lund] was reading up on this topic over the last couple weeks as it relates to blogs and blogging platforms. I'll do a quick presentation on what "baking" means, and give some examples of platforms that use this technique. We'll go over why this could be useful for your site, and what some of the drawbacks are. I'm interested to hear everybody's take on this topic. Look forward to seeing you there.

No pizza at this meetup, but we will bring some soda and beer along. If you want to bring a six pack of something to share, I'm sure you'll have many friends.

by "baking" do you mean delivering dynamically generated pages as static html files via a caching solution? i ask b/c usually this is a process that happens continually w/ a blog/cms, rather than "before rolling it out to the world" -- so maybe you mean a different kinda baking than i'm familiar w/.

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
