TeleBrands Inventors Day for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

A $10,000 prize is at stake in Montclair State's version of "Shark Tank," where teams of student entrepreneurs will compete to determine who has the best pitch for their product/service innovation.

The third annual TeleBrands Inventors Day for Aspiring Entrepreneurs will crown one student team the winner of bragging rights, and the $10,000 prize. Don't miss this day of anticipation and excitement, while cheering for our student teams.

Because of the growing interest in our entrepreneurship classes, the competition will be divided into two parts on May 4: a preliminary round with more than a dozen teams followed by the finalists' pitches.

A pizza lunch will be served between the two rounds of pitches. The event is free and open to the public. All are welcome to come for any part of the day.

The TeleBrands Inventors Day for Aspiring Entrepreneurs (http://www.montclair.edu/entrepreneur/entrepreneurship/pitch-competition/) is the culmination of two semesters of work in which Montclair State students created business models and marketing plans for their products/services, as well as hypothetical models for obtaining capital funding, all in conjunction with volunteer mentors. The students are pursuing a Certificate of Entrepreneurship (http://www.montclair.edu/entrepreneur/entrepreneurship/the-entrepreneurship-certificate/), issued by the Feliciano Center for Entrepreneurship (http://www.montclair.edu/entrepreneur/) in the Feliciano School of Business (http://business.montclair.edu/) at Montclair State University (http://www.montclair.edu/). The students have lived a true entrepreneurial experience during the school year, experiencing the hard work as well as frustrations they will face on the long road to launching a successful business. Seed capital for each team was funded by Guy Falzarano, founder and CEO of Lightbridge Academy (http://lightbridgeacademy.com/).
