FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I'm not a musician - can I still come and hack?
Of course! You don't have to be a musical prodigy, just be enthusiastic about building something music-related. Software, hardware, duct tape - anything goes. Come alone or bring a friend - everyone will be friendly and there'll be opportunities to collaborate!
Can you give me some example Music+Tech hack ideas?
Check out these super fun hacks from past Music+Tech events around the world:
• Steel drums wired to your body (https://youtu.be/jnQIE9yRWGU?t=23s)
• Program Siri to "Hypnotize you" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiYq4q45D0Q)

We're looking into hosting workshops at the beginning of the event to help you get started. Please shoot us a message and let us know if there's anything in particular you'd find helpful.
Will there be prizes / Is it a competition?
No prizes, no pressure.
You don't even have to present your work, although we highly encourage you to even if you didn't get it working. The whole point of this event is to get Torontonians having fun with Music+Tech, and offering them a carefree place to do so :)
I'm shy - can I just watch?
Don't be shy! But yes, definitely show up for Pizza/Beer and cheer on the presenters during the Concert. Let's make this as fun as possible :)
Do you need volunteers?
Yes! Please let us know if you want to help set up, clean up, carry food in or out, stand at the door to guide people in, run the mixing board, etc.
