Greetings Mountaineers!

Well we are off to a fine start! Almost 100 members. This email is to let everyone know I am planning a last minute backpack trip for this weekend. I invite all able and willing to attend.
Trip Details are as follows

Trip Destination - Mount Cabot Elevation 4600 feet

TrailHead - Berlin Fish Hatchery‎
3783 York Pond Road, Berlin, NH‎

Meeting Time - 8:00 AM

Departure Time - 8:30 AM

Trip Length - 16 Mile loop

Drive Time from Boston
3:40 Mins
170 Miles

Day one

We will hike approximately 10 miles on day one! This is a medium grade hike and is not considered difficult hiking by the AMC. There are no technical sections where climbing skills are required.

Along our 10 mile jounrey we will summit

The Horn
The Buldge
And Mount Cabot

Lastly we will camp at Cabot Cabin

Day 2

Breakfast at 8 AM
Break Camp and be ready to move by 9:00 AM

We will then hike the remaining 6 mile loop down the KilKenny Ridge Trail back to the Trail Head.

This should be a fun Trip and a nice easy one for all of us to get to know each other. Myself, my Girlfriend summer and our lab are planning to leave Friday night and stay in a motel in the area. Therefor we do not have a long drive up very early on Saturday morning and are well rested for the hike. If anyone would like to carpool/caravan/please let me know.

With all this being said, please remember the following.

I am not a guide. I am simply the organizer of the trip. All participants MUST be SELF reliant. There are several opportunity's along the way for water resupply.
We of course will work as a team to support each other. You will need all your own gear. Previous backpacking experience is a good thing but not required provided you have all your own gear. Anyone that chooses to participate in any group trips does so at there own risk. If there are any in depth questions of the trip please feel free to email me. I would be happy to make suggestions on gear requirements and food ideas. This is not a Technical Climb.
There will be no rope, harnesses or rock gear required.

Hope to see you all Saturday!
