Announcing a new Meetup for Movies at the Ritz!

What: La Cinematheque Presents: OSS 117 Lost In Rio

When: November 12,[masked]:00 PM

Prince Music Theatre
1412 Chestnut St
Philadelphia, PA 19102

We will meet at: 6:00
The Movie starts at: 6:45

Let's venture out and try something a bit different ~ an Indy movie in Center City Philadelphia, on a weeknight. I know the timing is tough for most (due to work, travel etc...) but let's give it a shot!

The Philadelphia Cinema Alliance (PCA), the nonprofit presenter of Philadelphia CineFest and Philadelphia QFest, has expanded its year-round programming with the launch of La Cinematheque: the once-a-month french film series. La Cinematheque began in September and runs thru December. (thanks Deena for posting additional info on the message board)

The featured film for the month of November is... OSS 117: Lost in Rio (OSS 117: Rio ne r?pond plus. OSS 117: Lost in Rio is a french comedy (French with English subtitles) about the imagined love child of James Bond, Maxwell Smart and Austin Powers! Agent OSS 117 is the man who can save the world in this emensly popular and very funny spy spoof flick. Sent to Brazil to retrieve a microfilm containing the names of Frenchmen who assisted the Nazi regime, OSS 117 joins forces with sexy lieutenant Dolores to track down an underground group of escaped Nazis. Principal Cast includes: Jean Dujardin, Louise Monot and Michel Aumont

Ticket price is $9.50. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling[masked], ext. 4, 10am - 6pm, Monday - Friday, or online via Tickets may also be purchased at the door on the night of the screening.

We typically gather after the movie, for some conversation and a bite to eat. However because it's a weeknight, I'm going to suggest that we skip dinner this time. However, if you are planning to attend the film and are interested in grabbing a quick bite to eat before the show, please send me an email. I'll try to coordinate something and post updated info on the site early next week.

Don't forget, if this is your first time attending a movie with this group, there is a $2.00 contribution collected to help with the cost of maintaining the web site.

Be sure to check the message board for dining, transportation and carpooling information; please post a message if you can provide a ride, or if you need a ride, or if you are interested in taking PATCO.

Should be a great film... Hope to see you there!
