Firefox OS and Connected Devices

Details

More than 2 years ago Mozilla introduced Firefox OS, a mobile operating system that runs on Web technologies. The top layer (GUI) is completely written in HTML/CSS/JavaScript, therefore it's easy for Web developers to create their own app and even hack on the OS itself, giving "the Web is the platform" a boost. In this talk Michael will introduce you to Mozilla, its values and will show where Firefox OS comes from.

In December 2015 Mozilla announced that it's focus on Firefox OS will pivot into the direction of Connected Devices (Web of Things). Imagine what could be done with an open web platform on small devices, connected to each other. Firefox OS on your fridge? Who knows? Michael will show the latest development and experiments that Mozilla has been working on.

Further we will discuss the announement from last week (https://discourse.mozilla-community.org/t/firefox-os-connected-devices-announcement/6864/92).
