Our Meetup on the Fourth of July weekend. It was so much fun!
I decided to start our Meetup group Mukti's Kitchen when a few good friends (including my husband :-) insisted that I did something to let others know about my Indian cooking and the variety and uniqueness of it.
Of course, I've been cooking Indian for many, many years, and I know it has improved quite a bit since we moved to New York about 18 years ago (practice makes you perfect, right?). But people who deeply care about me (or is it my cooking they really care about ;-) now say that it's really, really good, and healthy and tasty at the same time -- a combination they're convinced is rare. They said it was time I put it out, and invited everybody to taste it. I was impressed, gratified and flattered; I also thought it was about time I started my cooking classes for the many interested students.
So, here we are: a short history of how it all began.
Our Cooking Class on July 24. I was so impressed friends came out on a very hot day!
About Our Hopes and Plans
Hope to meet you -- new and old friends -- and enjoy warm, friendly evenings over my appetizers, entrees and desserts from all corners of the vast subcontinent. Indian food, Indian music, Indian lifestyle -- great, rich, aromatic masala mix added to the rich and diverse culture of New York City. A fitting tribute to this great city that embraces us all. The entire experience -- meeting, cooking and chatting -- is turning out to be magically relaxing, even therapeutic.
Like they say, "It's good karma."
Come, join us today. I look forward to meet you.
