Hacking X-mas
Details
What about hacking gadgets for X-mas? From hacking LEDs of a USB X-mas trees or pixel sequences in displays. We could also look into real-time clocks (RTC) with Arduino and help in counting Advents. Or, maybe building a code-lock for an IoT gift box with Wifi or Bluetooth?
In any case, this hack night should offer some nice opportunities to learn and share ideas around embedded systems.
Some projects/components we can have a look at:
-
https://github.com/watterott/vCard / X-mas messages and greetings . Requires ISP programmer, I can bring a https://www.olimex.com/Products/AVR/Programmers/AVR-ISP500/ but it should work with another Arduino as ISP too
-
Displays such as https://learn.adafruit.com/nokia-5110-3310-monochrome-lcd or LED matrix for X-mas messages and lighting
-
Relays for switching 220V such as http://www.aliexpress.com/item/20pcs-lot-DC-5V-AC-220v-10A-2-Channels-Relay-Module-SCM-Development-Board-for-Arduino/1208443333.html also for lighting e.g.an xmas tree
If you have other projects in minds, let me know!
