Homeopathy... A History of Evils

I remember hearing at one of the first Skeptics meetupgs that I was at about how homeopathy and other alternative medicines have a loophole in the German legislation due to laws passed in the time of the Third Reich.
I would love to know more about this, especially things like copies of the original laws passed by the Third Reich and corroborating evidence. I'd like to show such documents to people that I have been discussing homeopathy with.
They tend to be fence-sitters and none have so far known about this link. I think it would help them understand and abhorr homeopathy and the legal support it has in Germany if they knew the roots of where it came from.

Hi,

I do not know about the legal status, but the Nazi Ideology has been inspired or has roots to various other movements of the time. Many of which were Esoteric or have associated themselves with esoteric principles or occultism

German Wikipedia has an article on Homeopathy during the time of national socialism:

I would say that a lot of people are kind of aware of this actually. Rudolf Hess is quite known for promoting Anthroposophy and Homeopathy.

On another note I would question the effectiveness of the argument against homeopathy by bringing up this link. Associating homeopathy with the Nazi regime might damage its reputation, true, but the same argument could be led against vegetarianism (Hitler was vegetarian), and if you think of vegetarianism, it would be a very bad argument. But of course thats your call ;)
