Guided tour @ Bukit Brown Cemetery

Details
I am really very happy to be able to offer a guided tour of the Bukit Brown Cemetery through our meetup group. It is one of the most discussed topics in Singapore as parts of this amazing heritage will be lost to make space for a new highway. The park will then be cut into two halves and about 5,000 of the over 200,000 graves will be lost.
I went to Bukit Brown Cemetery some weeks ago and was speechless at the beauty and magic of this place as well as intrigued by the stories that the tombs are telling.
We will have 2 tour guides bringing us around for about 2 hours. Their knowledge of the clans, families, symbols and history is outstanding and they are volunteers!
There is no fee for the guided tour, but I would like to ask everyone for a small donation at the end of the tour which will be used to clear jungle for tomb discovery and to mount public outreach in the form of exhibitions and attendant material.
Please rsvp only if you are sure you can make it and un-rsvp immediately in case there is a change. If you are interested but there is a waiting list - no worries, rsvp however and you might get a surprise message the day before the tour!
Bring & wear:
- long trousers & outdoor shoes (no slippers)
- enough water for 2 hours
- mosquito spray & sun screen
- rain cover just in case
Try to be there a bit earlier, the tour will start at 8.30 sharp as I do not want to keep the volunteers waiting. We will have 2 guides with 2 groups of 25 each.
