Overnight to Spruce Grove Camp 7.5 miles 1300' gain/loss

Come join us for a moderate hike up the Gabrielino trail to Spruce Grove Camp.

We'll hike down the fire road and head toward Sturtevant Falls. About 1/2 mile before the falls we will take the Gabrielino trail another 1.5 miles to the campsite. There are 7 campsites with picnic tales and fire rings. Pit toilets are available and water is available from the stream (filter or treat before drinking).

If you want to add a few more miles, there are a few options for day hikes including Mt. Zion and Mt. Wilson. Some of us just hang out in camp.

On Sunday, we'll pack up and head out the way we came in around 8:30-9:00 and stop for a snack at the pack station.

An adventure pass is required to park at Chantry Flats and a 1 day pass will work for overnight. Passes are available at the pack station and REI, but I don't know if the pack station will be open at 7AM. Parking is limited so carpooling is recommended.
