Let's hike from Crystal Lake to Mt.Baden Powell!!

Join us for a 17 mile round trip hike from the Crystal Lake campground to Mt. Baden Powell. The Crystal Lake campground is basically at the end of the road for the San Gabriel Canyon Rd that goes north of Azusa. The whole hike will be about 10 hours, including break. Elevation gain is 4100' gain, some of it on the return, making it an advanced hike.

If you've done the Bridge to Nowhere hike, you've taken this road but turned on the East Fork Rd. To get here, you just stay on the main road for about 15 more miles. The campground has some old growth pine trees, and is named after the only natural lake found in the San Gabriel's

The begining of the trail is exposed and sunny, but as long as you are not hiking through it during the hottest time of the day its ok.

Hike difficulty: Advanced Level 8/10

Trail condition: Mostly single file trail, no shade

Water: You should carry a min of 3 liters

Toilette: At trail head
