Overnight to Cooper Canyon from Cloudburst Summit

Join us for a moderate hike from Cloudburst Summit to Cooper canyon Trail Camp on the PCT.

The GPS coordinates for our trailhead is:

34.3514, -117.9344

This is a good hike to test out gear and get a little experience with winter gear (microspikes).

This is a reverse hike. Distance is 3 miles. Elevation +/- is ~800'

We will head out from Cloudburst Summit at 8 and follow the PCT to camp. We will setup camp and for those who want to add a few more miles, we have the option of continuing on the Burkhart Trail to summit Pallet Mountain or Thrall peak.

With the current weather conditions, microspikes are recommended.

DIRECTIONS:

From the 210 freeway in La Canada, take the Angeles Crest Highway (2) and drive approximately 38 miles. Park on the north side of the road just past the "Cloudburst Summit" sign on the right.
