We are a positive support system for Motherless Daughters throughout the state of New Jersey.

Our mission is to provide a statewide community for motherless daughters through shared feelings, experiences, and humor.  We are all at different stages of our grief, and this group is to remind you that you are never alone - there is always someone who can understand where you have been or where you are.

The mother-daughter connection and the grief we feel when we lose them is unique, and the support we need is not easily found in our other social and familial circles. No matter if it happened two weeks ago, two months, two years, ten or thirty, the synergy created between all of us fosters an environment of comfort, trust, and knowledge.

Our group is not just about sharing our immediate, long-term, and ever-changing grief and finding survival methods and resolve, but also in creating a constant network of understanding and caring women who bond by being able to understand that grief on the deepest level - and sharing gatherings, events, outings, and discussions, in order to create positive interactive experiences for us, helping us to ease into our acceptance and growth.  We forge friendships and have FUN together, and we honor and remember what brings us together.

This group is open to women of all ages who have lost their mothers and would like to meet with others who understand their loss and the void that is left in each our lives. We'll meet to celebrate our mothers and support each other. We will share our stories, thoughts and experiences.

Please don't confuse us with any other Motherless Daughters group in the tri-state area, although you might see my copy lifted from our site, from our Facebook page, and from our event descriptions -- and used on others' web sites. There is only one "NJ Motherless Daughters!"  We plan unique events and I author all copy our web sites.  While this Meetup site is private, I keep our Facebook page open so that other motherless daughters can readily see the wonderful, successful, and media-worthy events we present, and know that they are not alone - and can be part of our group.
