Women getting together for friendship and socializing. For women 25+ who enjoy: book clubs, writing groups, coffee meetups, walks, dinners, knitting, yoga, movies and other such events.
We will hold bi-weekly coffee, bi-weekly walks, monthly writing group and a monthly book club as a rule. Plus other fun events will be added in as they come up.
This group is for friendly, happy, positive women who are looking to meet others and make lasting friendships.
Most events will be located in East End of Toronto or North York, where there is ample parking. Some events will take us to other areas of the city.
**Please note this group charges $1.00 per meetup to cover the cost to run a group from the Meetup.com web page. If you have any questions or concerns please speak to your organizers. Failure to pay will result in removal from the group. Three no shows will also result in removal from the goup. We have a two day advance notice policy for this group to prevent last minute changes. These are basic rules that many groups apply.***
Privacy Commandment:
This group is private which means that only members of this group can view details such as members, location of events. No Sister shall disclose locations, details or member information to non members.
Solicitation Commandment:
This group is not a promotional tool, no Sister shall solicit other members of this group about any product, business, event, religion or website via personal emails, posting on the message boards or approaching members at events. Any form of soliciting will not be tolerated and your membership will be revoked immediately. We value that many of our members own their own business but please respect that this group is for socializing and our members which to feel safe and non obligated.
Crashing Commandment:
No Sister shall come to an event if you did not RSVP in time before it was closed, even if the event is not full.
No Sister shall bring a guest to an event if you have not added them to your RSVP. Not all our events allow for guests as the purpose of the group is to keep our events small and intimate so that all the Sisters feel comfortable.
TTC Commandment:
If you are a TTC user please make sure that you plan ahead to take TTC to get home from the event. You may post on the message board asking if anyone lives in your area and wait to see if someone volunteers to assist you with a ride. No Sister shall ask for a ride to the TTC or their home, this puts other members on the spot and can impose an obligation. If a member offers you a ride and you feel it is safe that is your option but do not put others on the spot.
RSVP Commandment:
No Sister shall "sit" on events, when you RSVP “yes” and your plans have changed you are required to change your RSVP to “no” less then 24 hours before the event in order to give other members a chance to take your spot. There will be no “maybe” option for the RSVPs. You must RSVP with yes or no. If you RSVP with “yes” then add a note saying maybe then your status will be changed to “no”.
No Sister shall not show up or cancel on the day of the event. If you RSVP "Yes" to an event and do not attend or cancel on the day of the event then you are considered a "No Show". If you failed to attend because of a last minute emergency please contact your organizer with an explanation.
Three "No Shows" and you will be removed from the group. So please make sure you change your RSVP to “no” 24 hrs before the event if you know you can’t attend. If we do not hear from you after the no show and or you do not reply to our inquiry as to why you did not show then you will be removed from the group on your second no show. Not showing for an event is disrespectful to the organizer and other members of the group, especially those on the waiting list.
Inactive Member Commandment:
Our goal is to keep this group active and we will have events to encourage new/inactive members to participate.
No Sister shall remain inactive, if you do not attend an event in 6 months then you will be considered an inactive member even if you visit the site on a regular basis.
If you become an inactive member then you will removed from the group. You are always welcome to re-join if you think your circumstances have changed and are able to participate.
Member rating Commandment:
This group has a rating system for members, these ratings are subject to change depending on the member's activities in the group:
•GS - Good Standing: this member is active and honours his/her RSVP and the group’s Rules and policies. A GS has an RSVP priority over an NS or a NR (see below)
•NS – No Show: This member RSVP’d with a “yes” and did not attend the events or canceled on the day of the event and no reason (NR) was communicated to the organizer. The NS will be counted and three no shows (3 NS) will mean removal from the group. Two if there is no response to the organizer inquiry.
Organizing Commandment:
No Sister shall try to organize their own event with out the expressed consent of the Organizer's (Crystal and Laura). We want to hear about your ideas for the meetup but if the ideas suggest in any way that members should meet you or contact you the idea will be removed as will you from the group. This is a women's group so in order to ensure the safety of our members we do not want people we do not know planning meetings. This is the internet and there is no way to confirm that "Sally," that asked if anyone wanted to meet her at the Zoo is even female or isn't a con-artist. This rule is for your safety ladies, not to prevent you from getting together outside of meetup. If you have met someone and wish to see them outside of the group then by all means hang out, be friends. If you see another member's post about a meeting we encourage you to to not meet up with a stranger. All official meetups for this group will be posted on the calendar. We will consider guest or assistant organizer's but not until Crystal and or Laura have met you and determined that you are a trust worthy and reliable individual. PLEASE THINK AND BE SAFE!
