Dr. John Abbott & Macro (Insect) Photography

Details
I do NOT have any idea how many of the meetups I have scheduled so far have had rain on that day but I think I need to go to between Texas and California and schedule photography meetups to break droughts! The weather is saying 80% chance of Thunderstorms right now. Dr. Abbott's schedule fills up so he and I have decided to reschedule for Sunday, May 3rd! I would hate for this outing to be ruined by rain.
We have had the worst luck you can imagine. If you are looking for some interesting shooting this weekend (April 11 & 12th), try the Rattlesnake Festival in Round Rock, Texas at Dell Diamond. It is a NO kill event and virtually every species of Rattlesnake found in the world will be at this event
I am beyond excited to share with you that we will have a meetup led by Dr. John Abbott (Wild Basin Preserve Director and former curator of entomology at UT). Dr. Abbott is the author of several field guides on dragonflies and damselflies in the state of Texas. Dr. Abbott and his wife, Kendra, are both talented photographers and will offer workshops in locations locally and internationally on insect photography and trap camera photography. You can learn more at their website: http://www.abbottnaturephotography.com/#!/index
If you have ANY interest in macro photography, I can promise you will NOT want to miss this Meetup! The Abbott's are extremely friendly, very knowledgeable and, as their photography attests, very talented.
Official start time will be posted shortly. However, I wanted to go ahead and post this meetup to give everyone time to plan.
I hope to see you there! Bring your tripods, flash, macro lens or telephoto lenses with extension tubes or whatever equipment you use for macro photography.
UPDATE:
Here is a link to a map of Hornsby Bend: http://www.hornsbybend.org/sitemap.html
The bird blind can be seen on the map south of Pond #2 near where it says Colorado River on the bottom of the map. The map says, "Bird Shelter" rather than blind.
By sending in an RSVP and joining this meetup event hosted by the NANPA Central Texas Nature Photography Group, I am also agreeing to the terms of the following release and waiver of liability, which shall be binding on my heirs, executors, administrators, successors, and assigns. In consideration of my (my child’s) participation in the Central Texas NANPA Nature Photography Group, I do hereby release, discharge, and hold harmless the North American Nature Photography Association, its members, officers, directors, and employees and the leader(s) of this event from any and all liability by reason of any damage, loss, expenses, or injury arising from my (my child’s) participation in this event, including that caused solely or in part by the fault, including but not limited to negligence, gross negligence and recklessness, of the above-named parties.
