GURPS: Autoduel / Gaming Night

I just purchased GURPS: Autoduel, Vehicles, & High Tech & am re-acquainting myself with the 2nd/3rd edition GURPS basics. I’d like to find some folks interested in creating some vehicles & characters & then cooperatively learning & practicing the combat system (Car Wars tabletop hex-map combat).

This would be strategic vehicle & character combat in a Modern Dystopic or a Post-collapse/Post-apocalyptic type setting, such as: Mad Max, The Running Man, Hunger Games, Sliders: Dead Man Sliding, The A-Team, Logan’s Run, Darkwind: War on Wheels, The Colony, Punisher, etc.) There would also be the potential for adding story elements & character roleplaying once we’re comfortable with character & vehicle combat. As a player, I’ve definitely enjoyed story-depth & character development in the past games I’ve played regardless of the genre.

I’m unsure if I want to solely game-master, as it’s not my comfort-zone, but am willing to consider options based upon who else is interested & their level of experience/comfortability with GMing &/or the GURPS system.

I can host gaming day at my house. …looking for a fun, but mature adult group, preferably with some past rpg &/or strategy game playing experience. In addition, if you have another game or system you’d like to run, we could alternate. I’d like to get a regular weekly or biweekly gaming group/night started, with a group of ‘fairly dedicated regulars.’ Comment or email to express interest, ask questions, offer input, coordinate day/time of game night, etc.
