This is my once-a-year plug for The Nonprofit Technology Conference, NTEN, and CiviCRM.

The 2009 Nonprofit Technology Conference (http://nten.org/ntc...) will take place Sunday, April 26 through Tuesday, April 28 at the San Francisco Hilton. Nearly 1200 people will come together from across the country and around the world to engage around the technology issues that face the nonprofit sector. Join NTEN and register by January 31 to get the best rate. Sunday, April 26, is the Day of Service, where you'll be able to consult and assist the nonprofits working in the Bay Area. There are also Affinity Group meetings on Sunday at 8:30, 10:30, and 1:30. And there's a great fair with lots of information about services for nonprofits on Sunday from 3:00 to 8:00, combined with a reception.

Also, Penguin Day San Francisco will be Saturday, April 25th 2009, from 9am to 5pm, see
http://www.penguinday.... The CiviCRM team will probably have a presence at Penguin Day. In addition to Penguin Day and NTEN festivities, the CiviCRM team is planning both a user meetup (a free event) and a developer training AFTER NTC. See http://forum.civicrm.....

Become an NTEN member. Membership for an organization starts at $60/year and entitles staff to membership benefits, and it's cool to be listed in the NTEN Membership Directory. NTEN hosts a lot of Webinars, which are usually half price for members. They have a good email list for nonprofit technology issues, and they host affinity groups for people with a shared interest. You can participate in NTEN groups without becoming a member. NTEN also supports regional 501 Tech Clubs. Our Triangle 501 Tech Club holds meetings jointly with Triangle Net Tuesday.

Even if you can't go to the conference, be sure to check out the agenda and the breakout sessions (https://www.ntenonlin... ). Let me know which sessions particularly interest you and maybe we can use your suggestions as topics for local Net Tuesday/501 Tech Club meetings.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
