What We Are All About
Joining Our Group
We are a group that lives, breathes and seeks out fun! No more complaining that there isn't anything to do in the Midwest.
Our goal is simple, to create a fun, safe and active environment for men and women of all ages to grow, learn and have an outdoors outlet. We engage ourselves in a variety of activities ranging from multi-day backpacking trips to river kayaking, from a few people to larger crowds depending on the activity of course. We are an adult oriented group. This means that almost all of our activities are designed for persons in the adult age group. We do have occasional exceptions such as group social picnics, and any event posted on our site which is hosted by and outside group that is already open to the public and also allow minors. Please do not assume it's okay to bring your minors to an event unless you ask and get special permission from the event organizer first.
We are not professionals; we are just regular people that are tired of letting life pass us by.
Joining the Nebraska Adventure Group is simple. Everyone that Joins goes through an approval process and anyone can join that has a desire for
When you do join, we ask a few questions. Please fill these out. It's a great way to find out what you are into and what kind of skill level you may have.
This site is to promote outdoor events and fitness.
We do REQUIRE that you post a head shot (close up photo) for your main photo which shows on our event pages. The purpose here is so that other members and leaders will be able to recognize and find each other at events and know who they will be meeting. The photo on the event page will only appear as half the size of a postage stamp on most computers, and much smaller on smart phones, hence the need for the face to be a larger part of the photo. No group shots, avatars, scenics, pets, etc. will be allowed. Please make sure you have your head shot posted when applying for membership. Any member can post several photos on their profile. We only ask that the "main" photo be the head shot. Please note that each meetup group that you belong to can have a different main pic. You must go to our site first then select your head shot. Thanks for your cooperation.
Membership is an annual $12.00 and helps us to be able to provide the amount of diverse activities we do along with throughout the year to be able to provide discounts on gear, workshops & activities.
The goal of this group is to provide maximum entertainment for the least amount of money. However, there will be times that a fee will need to be collected to pay for entry fees, gas, rentals, etc. We will do our best to have those costs listed up front with all events.
We'll add just about any event to the schedule that interests us, and ANYONE can make a suggestion. Just mention it on the
section and if there is enough interest we'll try to add it to the calender. If you want something posted immediately, then please gather all the needed information and offer to host. I'll put it up

If an event is to be canceled due to weather or any other reason the event will be marked canceled and an email will be automatically generated and sent out to RSVP'd members. Another email will be sent out by the Event Organizer discussing the reason for the cancellation and whether or not it will be rescheduled. There are times that we will hold out till about 30 minutes before the event if it is weather that may let up in which case we will send out a text message to RSVP'd members to announce a cancellation or meeting location change. If you do not provide a cell phone number we cannot contact you.
We encourage all levels of fitness to join the group. However, please have a rough idea about your level and if you can complete the event you are considering.
All events are at your own risk. You make your own decisions and we accept NO responsibility for your actions or judgment.
Participation and Preparation
Before you come out... Check all of your gear. Some events require more than others. Bicycling, for example… check the air in your tires and whether or not it will shift gears. Do so, at least a week in advance so you will have time to get it to the shop. Backpacking requires a lot of gear. And some of it is expensive. The goal is to be self sufficient. However, your organizer will have a complete set. And other members will have extra gear laying around. Speak up if you are in need.
This group will practice a “leave no trace” model. It will be our goal to leave an area in better shape than we found it.
If you have a sport or event that you would like to lead, let us know. We’ll make you an “event host,” if we think your event something that fits this group and let you run with it.
Children and Pets
Some of our events will be designed for families. Some parks and other locations don't allow dogs and some will allow them with a leash. If you have questions about if kids or pets may be included, email the organizer.
We encourage everyone to RSVP whether you can attend or not.
***We just simply ask if you cannot make it please let us know.
