The New England Microsoft Developers (NEMD) s a group of software developers who meet monthly to discuss development with the Microsoft tools and platforms, such as .Net, Windows Server, Azure, tablets and Windows Phone and to hear from local development experts. Typical topics are Visual Studio, ASP.Net, language features in VB.Net, C# and other languages, cross-platform development, software performance, security, and the business of software development. A typical meeting will also feature opportunity to ask questions, make announcements about job opportunities or items of interest, to connect with other members and to win free prizes of books, software and other goodies.
Meetings are always free and open to all.
Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month between 6:30 and 8:30 in the evening at 201 Jones Road, Waltham, MA. The group's web site is this meetup group. You can join it to get the monthly meeting announcements at:
NEMD started in the mid 1990's as the New England Visual Basic Professionals and has continued with that name until recently. With the name change comes a broadened variety of languages and platforms as well as a wider variety of development topics. The New England portion of the name has been kept because we truly draw developers from 5 of the nearby states: MA, RI, CT, NH and ME. NEMD is a member of INETA and Boston User Groups (BUG). We're still at 201 Jones Rd. in Waltham but now we're on the first floor. The room is between the elevator banks. Starting today, November 1, 2012, there will be no more guard to let anyone into the building after 6:00 PM. So if you can't get in, please knock on the window to the meeting room. The window is just to the right of the back entrance. If all else fails, call my cell at 978 440 eight one two six
