Hi All,

Did this hike back in April. Was a fair amount of snow but the trail was still workable without microspikes, but they did help. Reports are of a lot less snow. Microspikes are mentioned to be more trouble then they are worth.

Starting Elevation: 1400 feet
Ending Elevation: 2400 feet
Elevation Change: 1000 feet
Distance 2 miles (one way)

WTA Heather Lake Report

We'll meetup at the Canyon Park park & ride to carpool and follow at 7:30am. Should be out of there by 7:45 am and at the trail head by 9:00am. The low elevation gain and short distance make this a nice easy hike.

Last time we were back pretty quick from the lake, so it was decided to check out the Big Four ice caves which are a couple of miles further down the highway. Ended up being a great addition. The trail is about 1.1 miles long, and gains 200 feet. Much of the trail passes over a bridge over a wetland region. Very neat. We didn't see the caves last time because of the recent snowing had covered the entrances. But the short trail and elevation gain made playing in the snow more fun than any bother at all.

Parking pass required

Might be nice picnic weather with a couple of nice enjoyable hikes.
