We will meet in the parking lot across the street from SPUDS on 97th.

We will be registering between 9:45 and 10:00am and leaving to walk at 10:00am. Porta-potty here but restrooms available when we get into the Beach park at about .5K.
All walkers must register. IVV Credit is $3.00. All may walk. Donations help support volkssport activities.
NORTHWEST HIKING WEEKEND AUGUST 19-21 (FRIDAY/SATURDAY/SUNDAY)
Four-Plus Foolhardy Folks and Olympic Peninsula Explorers Volkssport Club invite you to a special hiking and walking weekend in the the Port Ludlow and Chimacum area.
START LOCATION: The Bridge Deck, 121 Marina View Drive, Port Ludlow, WA
START TIMES: 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Finish by 4:00pm
Alternate start for the Anderson Lake walk is at Anderson Lake State Park, 1061 Anderson Lake Rd, Chimacum, WA 98325 (Saturday only, hours 8-12am for registration, 4pm for finish).
All hikers and walkers must register/sign AVA waiver to walk. IVV Credit, $3. All are welcome. Donations to support events like this are appreciated.
AWARD: An embroidered patch designed by Dorman Batson is $12.00, which includes IVV credit. 30 AVAILABLE. NO REORDERS.
MISCELLANEOUS: Water and porta potty at registration. Restrooms at halfway point on 10km. Pets permitted. Owners responsible for leash and clean up laws.

DIRECTIONS: I-5: Exit #132. WA16N to WA3N. LEFT on WA104W. RIGHT on Paradise Bay Rd (first road after Hood Canal Bridge). In six miles, RIGHT on Oak Bay Rd. RIGHT on Marine View Dr. Follow Volkswalk signs. Free parking. From points north and east of Puget Sound: A ferry from Edmonds or Seattle may be more efficient.

TRAIL: (3C) 10km (2B) 6km
Walk on wooded trails around Teal Lake enjoying the wildflowers and then on wide, wooded forest roads with views of the Olympics. The 10km includes part of the Niblicks Trail around the golf course with a cute café along the route. Not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.
TIMBERTON AND BAY

TRAIL: (3B) 10km (2B) 5km
Walk along dirt trails around Port Ludlow Bay to the Timberton Loop, a 4.4-mile trail with 475-foot elevation gain featuring broad forest roads and dirt trails, ponds, woods, and a vista point. The 5km will stay along the Bay. Not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.

FINISH TIME: 4:00 pm
DISTANCE: 10 km (6.2 miles)
5 km (3.1 miles)
TRAIL: (2B) Walk on dirt trails circling Anderson Lake and the surrounding area. The trails are well-maintained with signs in the woods with views of the lake along the way. There are some ups and downs but no significant hills. Not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.
MISCELLANEOUS: Water and restrooms at start/finish. BRING WATER AND BUG SPRAY. Pets permitted. Owners responsible for leash and clean up laws.

Come join us on a 10K (6.2 mile) walk in the Innis Arden neighborhood, located in the city of Shoreline, north of Seattle. You’ll have the opportunity to see both Shorewood High School & Shoreline College campuses, Shoreview Park, Puget Sound, Cascade Mountains, Sunset public park & garden, and a local resident Koi pond. (no 5k is available.)
This walk has paved surfaces, a trail, stairs, and hills. Two of the steeper hills require walking single file formation due to limited walking space on road. Everyone is welcome to walk at their own pace. Come prepared for the weather and walking.
Sign in required between 9:00-9:30am. Maps and directions for this route is available at start point. A group walk is available at 9:15am. Restrooms are at Trader Joe's across the street from the start, and in Shoreview Park which is halfway through the walk. We will meet in front of Shoreline City Hall 17500 Midvale Ave N, Shoreline, WA 98133. Free parking on street, Trader Joes, or in City Hall parking garage.
The club has costs to put on these walks so we ask for a donation. IVV/AVA credit is available at the customary fee. Challeges include Rails to Trails, Veterans, City Hall, Frontline Heroes (pharmacy, grocery store, gas station)
