After your walk warm up back at the start point for Soup and Refreshments and social time with fellow Volkssporters!
Please note: The NW Pathfinder lists this event to start at 4:00pm but the club is allowing you to start at 3:30pm to facilitate better lighted walking conditions.
Stroll on Alki – New Year’s Eve
Join us for our traditional New Year’s Eve event, which includes an evening stroll along Alki Beach for great views of the city lights of downtown Seattle, as well as a walk through the neighborhoods to enjoy the Christmas lights in West Seattle. Route goes past Luna Park, along Harbor Ave, and returns to the start point via California Ave.
Then return on New Year’s Day for another walking event, this one in the morning, also featuring a stroll along Alki for those fantastic views, but with a different route through the neighborhood for getting to and from the beach.

Driving Directions:
From I-5, take exit 163 (northbound) or 163A (southbound), and cross West Seattle bridge. Exit at Admiral Way. Go up Admiral Way a little over a mile to California Ave SW, a major intersection. Turn left and go 0.3 miles to West Seattle High School parking lot, adjacent to St. John’s Church.
Comments:
Restrooms at the start / finish. Strollers will have difficulty due to some stairs and hills. Not suitable for wheelchairs. Embroidered patch commemorating the event will be available for purchase. Pets are permitted but not in buildings. Owners are responsible for leash and cleanup laws.
