It's another....

FABULOUS FRIDAY Mixed Dance (& late night lyrical fusion & blues) @ Om Culture (Wallingford Neighborhood)

Join us every 2nd & 4th Friday of the month for a wonderful "dance in the round" at the beautiful Om Culture Center and check out their brand new DANCE FLOOR! (Just installed this Fall). If you are new to the group or haven't been to any of these before, you also won't want to miss the free introductory lesson before the dance -- it's a great way to meet fellow dancers (you rotate partners throughout and learn some new skills at the same time) Fun!

PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT an exclusive Meetup event. We typically get 60-80 dancers at each dance (...meaning, our attendance in no way reflects the number of RSVP's you might see on this page). It's a great place to come and meet lots of great dancers -- come down and check it out!

NOTE: Vax/Booster/Mask highly recommended but not required

• 7:00-7:30: FREE introductory Dance Lesson (included with price of admission): Lesson topic will vary each time, but they are always fun, informative, and social! Class topics and updated information will be posted at www.rolluptherug.com (http://www.rolluptherug.com/) (All levels welcome. No prior dance experience necessary. No partner needed)

• 7:30-9:30: "Om Culture Friday Night Mixed Dance": Join us for Seattle's best variety of blues, NC2S, waltz's, swing, fox, WCS, salsa, cha cha, latin, ballroom, and more!

• 9:30pm-11:00am (or later): "Late Night Lyrical Fusion & Blues": We focus mainly on contemporary lyrical fusion & blues dance music, perfect to wind your way through the late night and into the wee hours of the morning. We may have a special guest DJ joining us on occasion.

COST (recommended donation -- cash or check at the door):

• Lesson & Dance (7-10pm): $15

• Late Night Lyrical Fusion & Blues Only (after 10:00pm): $5

• 9:30-11:00pm: Late night lyrical blues and fusion set
• No need to pre-register, just show up at the door
• Cost**:** $15 for lesson & dance ($5 after 9:30pm)

SATURDAY WALTZ WORKSHOPS, June 10:

• 10:30-12:30pm: Workshop #1: "Unique Waltz Combos" (Int/Adv)
• 1:30-3:30pm: Workshop #2: "Fabulous Shadow Waltz Variations"

SUNDAY NC2S WORKSHOP, June 11:

• 10:00-12:00 Workshop#4: "Playful NC2S Variations" (Int/Adv)

Special Sunday Night Mixed Variety Dance & Lesson at Om Culture!

Join us at Om Culture for a fabulous lesson (7-7:30pm) and mixed variety dance (7:30-9:30pm) to cap off your week! Stay for the late night blues & fusion set after 9:30 to keep the jam going :)

LESSONS: Just before the dance, enjoy a FREE introductory taster-lesson on how to have fun with fusion. It's the perfect way to learn some of the lead-follow language of this beautiful new dance style

DANCE: After the lesson, stay for wonderful mix of the best variety social-dance music in Seattle! You’ll enjoy a healthy mix of Swing, Fox, Waltz, Ballroom, blues, Latin, WCS, nc2s, 1-step tunes, and more! After 9:30pm we switch into lyrical blues and fusion mode with some fabulous new music Ari is bringing back from Europe -- not to be missed! :)

WHAT: A wonderful opportunity to come learn and practice social partner dancing with a warm and welcoming community of dancers.

No experience with social dancing or any dancing for that matter is necessary. We support an environment where those newer to dance feel welcomed and supported.

BYOB, wine, and snacks to share!

WHEN:

• 6:45pm: Doors Open, Pre-Dance Music
• 7:00pm-7:30pm: Dance Lesson (FREE with admission) Style TBA
• 7:30-9:30pm: "Mixed Variety Dance" (waltz, swing, blues, ballroom, Latin, WCS, NC2S, and more!)
• 9:30pm+: Late night set (at DJ's discretion)

COST: $15-$20 at the door recommended donation (cash or venmo at the door). A Pay-what-you-can option is also available fro anyone struggling with finances.

These dances are open to all. We do not check vaccinations. Masks are recommended but optional. Please stay home if you are feeling ill.
