I was going down to view the eagles, and saw the one in the nest, but it looks to be sitting up higher, and I also saw a fleeting glance of what I believed to be the other eagle. I decided to continue north from Station Rd. Brecksville on past the eagles, and was told that there was a beaver dam across the canal, but down aother 1.5 miles or so near mile marker 15. about a quarter mille from marker 15 I saw what appeared to be two dams in the canal, about 50ft. apart. Best I could tell they were created by beavers that added to exisiting tree falls across the canal.
I didn`t notice any beavers, but it was getting dark, so the time was right. After proceeding further south, I saw one gliding through the muddied waters, so I followed him for about 10 min., as he casualy swam along and submerged himslf to go under debris. He didn`t seem to mind my presence as I trolled along following him. I got as close as about 15ft., and he seemed to stop and stare at me eye to eye for a time.
I turned back, and vwholla, two more beavers appeared, so I watched them for a time, as they made landfall, and occupied themselves on the shoreline for a time, was quite enjoyable watching them so close up without them being spooked for the most part.
I then traveled back towards Station Rd., and enjoyed the bright illumination of a full moon lighting the trail as I returned, round trip approx 4mi., cost, about an hour`s time, and some priceless moments with nature. Happy Trails!
